Product Introduction
:: KIP 2200 Monochrome / Color Scanner

The KIP 2200 is a high resolution, high speed scanner that provides enhanced monochrome imaging and world-class color scan quality from a single unit.   The KIP 2200 mono / color scanner provides high demand users with the highest standards of image quality, versatility and rugged construction.   Fully integrated with KIP and inkjet printers, the KIP 2200 scan system provides a full suite of state of the art software for color and monochrome copying and scan to file operations.   Image quality is achieved through true 600 x 600 dpi optical resolution from three independent imaging cameras and a touchscreen user interface that provides ease of use and comprehensive system status information.   The KIP 2200 Scan System covers the full range of monochrome and color applications, from basic to the most advanced, while handling the work of two scanners from a single unit.

The KIP 2200 Color Scan Solution is a wide-format scanning system for customers whose primary need is creating digital archives but who may also need convenient copying and walk-up scan-to-file or email.   Moreover, the KIP 2200 Color Scanner is powerful, with scan speeds from 3.2 ips to 9.6 ips in monochrome (dependent on dpi) and 1.4 to 3.4 ips in color.   The image capture area is up to 36 in. (914 mm) wide, yet originals up to 38 in. wide may be fed through the scanner.

As shown, the system includes a KIP 2200 Color Scanner that utilizes patented RTT technology for the highest quality results, a USB 2.0 interface and KIP Color Basic Software for monochrome or color scan to file and simple copy operations.

Monochrome and color imaging support — The KIP 2200 Color Scanner Solution can support both monochrome and color scan-to-file and copy to satisfy most application needs.   When scanning to file, users have advanced software controls over image quality; when copying, a closed loop calibration system adjusts output to the exact inkjet device being used for output, ensuring maximum copy quality.

Image quality — 600 dpi optical resolution is the key to the KIP 2200 Color Scanner’s outstanding imaging capabilities.   In addition, the KIP 2200 Color Scanner takes full advantage of patented RTT (Real Time Thresholding) and self calibrating imaging cameras to ensure high quality results.   To optimize image size for intended use, users can select custom resolutions, for example 72 dpi for website and PC monitor displays and 300 for offset press work.

Speed — In monochrome, the KIP 2200 Color Scanner automatically adjusts scan speed based on desired image resolution.   Monochrome scan speeds range from 3.2 ips @ 600 dpi to 9.6 ips @ 200 dpi.   Color scan speeds range from 1.4 ips @ 600 dpi to 3.4 ips @ 200 dpi.

Multiple printer support — The KIP 2200 Color Scanner provides software based scan-to-print support for all KIP digital printers.   In addition, the KIP 2200 may produce monochrome or color copies to an inkjet printer of the users choice.

Scan to File Formats — Customers may scan images into many common formats, such as TIFF, JPEG, GIF, BMP, CALS, PDF and more.

Touchscreen Control — An extra large touch screen display with an intelligent ergonomic design and logical layout guides users through the scanner menu system.   For fast operations, a set of one-touch shortcut buttons take you directly to each of the scanner’s most-used functions.   Mode memory allows storage of up to 10 user-defined sets of scanning or printing settings.   Despite its advanced functionality, the KIP 2200 is simple to learn and use, allowing even inexperienced operators to produce outstanding results in no time.
