The KIP 2200 is a high resolution, high speed scanner that provides enhanced monochrome imaging and world-class color scan quality from a single unit.
The KIP 2200 combines the speed and quality of KIP monochrome scanners with the addition of color capability.

The KIP 2200 may be configured as a stand-alone image capture device or as part of a scan, copy and print system when configured with a KIP monochrome printer, a color Inkjet printer, or both!

:: Enhanced Monochrome Image Quality

The KIP 2200 Scanner employs highly advanced monochrome imaging technology to deliver maximum image clarity that is superior to other wide format monochrome scanners, including previous KIP models.   The extraordinary level of monochrome image quality achieved with the KIP 2200 scanner is made possible due to:

  • KIP Real Time Thresholding technology
  • Automatic despeckle and background removal
  • User-selectable original scan modes
  • Self-calibrating maintenance systems
  • Advanced laser alignment camera system

Three automatic quality settings are available to assist users in achieving the desired image results from a variety of original document types when copying directly to a KIP monochrome printer:

  • Line Mode – Appropriate for use with crisp, sharp blackline originals with a minimal amount of graphical or raster data.
  • Line / Photo Mode – Appropriate for use with originals containing blackline and text information with some graphical data on the sheet.
  • Photo Mode – Appropriate for use with graphic intensive originals with a minimum amount of technical data.

KIP image quality makes business communications look better than ever.    KIP’s revolutionary Real Time Thresholding process examines the widely varying tonal information contained in original images and resolves it into crisp, intelligible black and white digital data, ensuring excellent results with minimal effort and incredibly low file sizes compared to conventional scanning technologies.

Superior Competitive Monochrome Image Quality — KIP’s revolutionary Real Time Thresholding (RTT) technology transforms widely varying tonal originals into sharp monochrome images for storage and reproduction.   RTT works by taking constant density samples across the full width of a document using a set of algorithms to dynamically calculate values for each individual pixel.   Although this is a complex operation, the internal processing speed of the KIP 2200 scanner is so robust that there is no impact on performance —even at scan speeds of 9.6ips!

Image Quality Comparison — The images below demonstrate the superior monochrome scan quality of the KIP 2200 when compared to the leading competitive monochrome scanner, which has long been considered the industry’s benchmark product as far as scan quality is concerned.
